This site is dedicated to the untold thousands of men who walked the decks of the U.S.S. Midway, the world's largest warship of her time.

Although her size was to be eventually outdated by the more modern 'Super-Carriers', none has ever been able to match the operational readiness, the adaptability, and most of all, the 'soul' provided her by the pride and determination of the many different crews who manned her throughout her long and illustrious career.

Midway served the interests of the United States from 1945 to 1991, sometimes enforcing U.S. policy, sometimes providing aid and comfort to those in need. She was overhauled, modernized and above all, called upon more than any other warship in the history of the United States Navy.

On June 7th, 2004, Midway entered the 'Next Phase' of her life. No longer a warship, she is now known as the San Diego Aircraft Carrier Museum, or SDACM. My wife and I were privelidged to be on hand on Opening Day and have the opportunity to go aboard her again. For being 59 years old, she is in exempliry shape and one would almost swear that she is still ready to go sea and do her duty. Her condition is once again testament to the type of people she has always seemed to attract as her caretakers. The work that has gone into Midway as well as that still being done on a daily basis is a direct reflection of the hard work and professionalism of those that man her.

Please visit the 'Sailor Pages' section to either enter your information or look for old shipmates. While primarily dedicated to Midway sailors, we are open to all members of the armed services for the purpose of finding and reuniting old friends. If you are here, I can only guess that you have probably filled out numerous web-pages looking for old shipmates only to get no response. I know that it can be tedious, but please do yourself and your former shipmates the service of registering. I have been at this game for almost fifteen years and have found several people that I wished to find in the last few months alone.

I would like to thank you for visiting this site, and if you served aboard the Midway, or are related to someone who did, I would like to thank you for your sacrifice. Whether you were aboard the ship or on shore, I know that you have given more of yourself than you ever knew that you could. What you/your sailor has done, has contributed greatly to your quality of life and is the reason you are free.

To the wive's of the men of Midway, your sacrifice is felt most of all as I know from experience that "Navy Wive's have the Toughest Job in the Navy". In the end, we did it all for you.
